Here is some information from Wilson Bunn, full time staff on the ground in India.
Some info for the Fall AIM team. I know that AIM has in the past recommended that team members bring about 150 dollars with them for spending money. That has not been enough in India because the teams usually choose to go to the Taj Mahal which costs them 75 dollars each. So they have been running out of money very quickly since that takes half of their entire trip spendings. I would suggest that we either double the amount they bring or at least tell them $75 plus the $150 for the Taj.
Also, it would be great if they could bring peanut butter, the India diet is low on protein. I would highly recommend vitamins because there is so little iron here that I weak and sluggish if I don’t take vitamins for a couple of months. Their team can purchase toilet paper here if they like, they don’t need to bring it unless they want. We don’t have enough pillows for everyone, but we have some, prob enough for 7 people to have one. One thing we could use at the house that would help out them and us as well is a packet of spatula stuff from walmart. You can’t get good quality spatulas here, and I know walmart has some pretty solid plastic ones that help with cooking. I can reimburse them if need be, but I would love a set of spatula, spoons, etc (one of the high quality heavy duty plastic ones if possible.)
They can charge things here but may need the converter for the electricity depending on the item.
